Skilled Nursing Community
Long Term Care offers a 30 bed skilled nursing unit with Registered and Licensed Nurses working along side Certified Nursing Assistants, some of whom are Deaf. All of whom know or are in process of learning American Sign Language. Residents receive the best in Communication accessibility including flashing signaling devices and safety systems. Each room is oversized with flashing doorbells, high speed internet access and the ability to access a private video phone. Many of the rooms overlook the beautiful riverfront and neighboring marina.
Attending physicians, including a Medical Director who have a good understanding of the Residents and their medical status, work with the nursing staff to ensure the best in ongoing medical care.
A full range of rehabilitation services for short and long term stays is available. Therapies include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and/or Feeding & Swallowing Therapy as indicated by the physician
New England Homes for the Deaf is fully certified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Medicare and Medicaid. It has consistent received outstanding surveys from the Department of Public Health. It was recently ranked as Five Stars.
